We believe church membership is an expression of a Christian's commitment to Christ and the local church family. Rooted in biblical principles, church membership reflects the early church's model, where believers were deeply connected and committed to one another. This commitment is not just a formality; it is a meaningful way to live out our faith.
Hebrews 10:25

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Acts 2:46
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Caring for one another is such an important part of being part of a church. It's key to building the kind of supportive relationships that are a big part of our vision for church life.
1 Peter 4:8

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Romans 12:15

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.


We want Faith Baptist to be a family of believers! For this to become a reality in a church, small groups and classes are vital to connecting with others. An important part of this is joining a Faith Baptist Bible Study group.
1 Corinthians 12:7

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.


We want you to use your gifts to serve the Lord and help accomplish the purpose of the church! In your membership interview, there will be a chance to talk this over. Our pastoral staff and deacons would always be very glad to talk about opportunities for service.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.


We are called to live holy lives to please God, to help each other, and to bring honor to Christ.
Malachi 3:10

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.


II Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.


The Old Testament pattern of tithing is a great starting point. The New Testament emphasizes cheerful, generous, sacrificial giving rather than any particular percentage.
Hebrews 13:17
1 Peter 5:2-3

The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.


We try to keep a biblical balance between the requirement that leaders be allowed to lead, and that they must be humble and approachable!
Ephesians 4:2-3

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

We expect members to live out the gospel in personal relationships with each other.
Ephesians 6:18-20

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.


We hope that church members are praying daily for Faith especially for our preachers and other staff. There are various opportunities to pray with others: we particularly hope that members will be committed to coming to the weekly church prayer meetings on Wednesday evenings.
